Once upon a time, I bled blue. I even wear blue on on a daily basis, thought not for reason related to UK. But now, I'm ashamed to be associated with this group of idiots. I was one of the people who thought Tubby should go, and I stand by that. But it wasn't because of his coaching. He just didnt recruit the type of players I felt should play for UK. And I had that confirmed by a person very high up in the coaching ranks. Pitino, in fact. Coach Rick said he never once butted heads recruiting a player against Tubby Smith. Tubby just didn't recruit the players that Rick did. And Rick went after the BEST. Tubby didn't. The only reason Tubby landed All-Star PG Rajon Rondo (he will be...trust me) is that Pitino went after Sebastian Telfair instead. Tubby didn't get the top notch players, or even try to.
But maybe now I know why....
The top notch talent brings in players like Liggins....players that the head coach will bow down to. I saw Liggins up close in the Indiana game. I think he's a diva, and he needs to go. But Billy Clyde bowed down, and rewarded his insubordination with what? 28 minutes of playing time in the next game.
Moan and groan all you want to about losing and Sosa...fact is, Pitino BEAT Kentucky tonite. And all you so-called Blue Blooded fans do is cry about it. I quit. No more UK blue for me. In immortal words of Ice Cube "F**K all y'all." And your K-Fund "donations". (Ah, the Second Amendment. See, I had to edit that last line for KentuckySports.com. Here, not so much.)
